Does anyone ever read this?

by Jon Niebling on February 28, 2009

In my role as Webmaster, I have been posting information to the Napa Valley Divers site for nearly two years now. I’m just curious, does anyone out there read the information I post?

If yes, let me know and please tell me what you like about the site? Are you local to the Napa Valley area? Are you a member of Napa Valley Divers?

If yes, for this site to be more valuable, what information would you like to see posted? What’s missing?

I look forward to hearing from you… that is, if anyone out there reads this post.

😉

This post is so my first one doesn’t feel lonely and to check if my new gravatar works. Thanks David.

Thanks Ray! Now I know, at the very least, there is one that takes the time to read and enjoy this site! It was beginning to feel like I threw a party and nobody showed up. And, for a guy that isn’t fond of computers, nice Avatar!

Does anybody read what?

Of course we read it! When you talk, we listen. I will make sure I respond more in the future. But, you know if I say something then Ray will say something…then I’ll say something…then…well, you get the picture.

You do a great job David. You ARE appreciated.

David- Good Morning: since I am such a ludite and don’t have a computer at home I am taking my break at work on the computer. I like the highlited/different color for events – that drew my eye. I think you do a fabulous job on the site and when I get a computer at home I’m sure I’ll be checking it out more.

Nancy –

I sincerely appreciated your suggestions last evening at the Club meeting. Keep an eye out for information relating to fish identification. I’ll post what I can find soon. If you come up with any other ideas, keep ’em coming! Oh, and thanks for checking out the site today!

Best regards,
David

Storm Sinks Similans Dive Boat: Seven Missing
By Chutima Sidisathian

Phuketwan Urgent Updating Report
SEVEN PEOPLE are reported missing after a dive boat sank in a storm off the Andaman coast last night.

The boat contained 31 people, the Royal Navy told Phuketwan.

Tearful survivors arrived back at the deep sea port on Phuket this afternoon on board a police boat after being rescued by a fishing trawler.

The captain of the sunken vessel, the MV Dive Asia 1, Chatree Leechoi, 45, told Phuketwan that his boat had been overturned by one big wave off the Similan islands.

A dive company spokesperson said there were Germans, Austrians, Australians, Swiss, Swedes, Japanese and Thais on board.

This afternoon a Marine Police officer told Phuketwan that seven people were missing: two Swiss, two Austrians, one Thai, one German, one Japanese.

I don’t know how else to post but here. I noticed that I am listed as a candidate for club prez. I choose not to run, and if elected, will not serve. I guess thats what I get for missing a meeting!

The food in Phuket is delicious and not expensive, all the Thais we met were very nice and eager to help. We stayed at The Bungalow Mountain Resort – a completely different place to the hectic tourist trap in the east of Phuket Town.
